Day 20 – Re-organizing The House

Instead of doing the Super Bowl parties full of food and beverages that are not on the Slow-Carb diet plan, Chelsea and i stayed in. After clearing out the garage of massive amounts of furniture and excess, we felt it was time to rearrange the front room. It took most of the day to go through all of the boxes we still house to check for heat sensitive items, label everything, re-stack based on ownership, shuffle stuff in the garage rafters, and put as much in the garage as possible.

We are both relieved to have reclaimed some space, both in the garage and in the front room. While we still can’t fit a car in the garage (gymnastic equipment take up a LOT of room!), moving around is a lot easier. The biggest benefit is just the feeling inside ourselves, like we cleaned out emotional space to make room for bigger projects.

About the Author

The world changed for me about two months into my M.B.A. program. While I have always risen quickly to management roles, learning how to truly be a part of a business and its many systems began to really excite me. While I have loved taking out-dated processes and digitizing them for cost savings, I am excited to take my project mangement experience to greater heights and really contribute to a company's growth as the head of a team excited to drive change. -Justin Velthoen
